Ours is a beautiful and spacious 150 year-old house located a couple of minutes from some of the most beautiful art nouveau architecture examples in Brussels.
Grand Place is 20 minutes by foot. The EU area is also very easily reached in 20 minutes by public transport or 10 min by bike (I provide 2 bikes against a deposit).
The house is furnished with some mid-century furniture and filled with books. The house itself is full of grandeur and charm, with its 4,5 m high ceilings adorned with cornicing.
The spacious garden is a leafy and peaceful oasis in the heart of Brussels.
The space
The house is close to Brussels' historical center and very well connected with public transport, 6 minutes from Brussels North train station, buses and trams a few steps away up the street, conveniently taking you everywhere.
It is located in a very lively neighbourhood, a few minute-walk from some of the most beautiful art nouveau architecture examples in Brussels (av. Louis Bertrand, etc.) and neo Renaissance buildings (the Schaerbeek town hall, etc.)
The spacious garden is a very private, leafy and peaceful oasis in the heart of Brussels.
We provide our guests with bed linen.
The kitchen is equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils and basic ingredients (spices, oil, etc.) to cook. We have Bialetti coffee machines of different sizes, kettle, toaster, blender, liquifier, electric juicer, toastie maker, etc.
Tips about the neighbourhood: The Ane Vert restaurant located 200 m from the house is typical Belgian brasserie cuisine at its best and has kept all its authenticity. Le Chabrol restaurant on Louis Bertrand Avenue is slow food-inspired and highly recommended. The Buca di Bacco on Louis Bertrand Avenue serves Italian food in a stunning art nouveau building. There are several lovely cafes, restaurants and a great organic wine bar with amazing tapas (Achille) around the beautiful town hall square (place Colignon), located 800m from the house. L'estaminet (ch. de Haecht) is an impossibly charming hidden treasure of a little Belgian restaurant/bar/cafe hidden away down a cobbled alley in a small park. It used to be stables and is next to the neo-classic Maison des Arts de Schaerbeek., 300 m from ours. It closes around 8 pm though. Local bars with atmosphere: De zoote ezel, Le Barboteur, Achille. The best organic bakery in Brussels (Soleil bakery) is a couple of minute-walk from the house and there is a lovely organic market almost next to it. The bakery only opens at 11 am and sells out VERY quickly. The Halles de Schaerbeek Cultural Center is literally round the corner with theater, contemporary dance and much more. Beautiful Josaphat park and the impressive architecture in its surrounding streets is a 12 minute-walk from the house.
